UST for a few madcap moments on Monday it appeared that football's rulers were getting the jitters over a regulation refereeingappointment. An early call to Soho Square established that David Moyes's worst nightmare had come true.
Steve Bennett would take charge of the derby game between Everton and Liverpool.
Messrs Moyes and Bennett go back a fair way in not ever seeing the same game or the same decisions.
With the per ma -tanned Jeff Winter now retired to his sun-bed, Bennett takes centre-stage as the official most likely to twist the feisty Scot into anguished knots.
