The nation's largest chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) has named Mike Upchurch of Upchurch Plumbing Inc. in Greenwood as this year's Construction Person of the Year, making this the second year in a row that the Mississippi ABC has given the award to a subcontractor.
Last year's winner was Seymour Pooley Jr., owner of South Central Heating and Plumbing Co. in Jackson. Upchurch, a native of Greenwood, is vice president of his family's company and a longtime member of MABC.
