Police say they interrupted a spree by four college friends who were looking for the perfect holiday decorations in a DeWitt neighborhood.
The four, all students at Syracuse University, were charged with petit larceny early Saturday after an officer caught them loading a plastic sleigh and two plastic reindeer worth about $250 into the back of a Jeep Cherokee, said DeWitt Police Capt. Mark Petterelli.
Officer John Anton was patrolling Greenbank Drive in the Boulder Heights neighborhood about 12:30 a.m. Saturday when he spotted the four, Petterelli said.
