Dec. 9--SSM Health Care-St. Louis plans to build a 158-bed hospital and medical campus near Fenton. And when it opens in the spring of 2008, the $215 million complex would replace St. Joseph Hospital of Kirkwood.
The new hospital, medical office building and outpatient services would be built on property that's now Lakewood Golf Club. The health campus will include gardens, fountains, courtyards and wooded areas.
In addition to being beautiful, the 54-acre site offers plenty of room for growth, said Ronald J. Levy, president and chief executive of SSM-St. Louis.
