It's been 14 years since John Brandl was in the Minnesota Legislature, but the Thomas B. Fordham Foundation hasn't forgotten the work Brandl did to push school choice.
Last week, the foundation announced that Brandl, now a professor at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, had won its 2005 Excellence in Education Prize. The prize, for "valor" in promoting education reform, brings Brandl $25,000.
