The West Midlands Chief Constable has dismissed as 'unrealistic' a Government proposal to give police officers mobile phones so that the public can contact them at any time.
The proposal by Home Secretary David Blunkett is among several published in a Home Office White Paper.
However, West Midlands Police Authority yesterday criticised the plans and afterwards the Chief Constable Paul Scott-Lee added his concerns.
