Q. Will avoiding aluminum lessen my chances of getting Alzheimer's?
A. It's unlikely. We know that concentrations of aluminum are found in the brains of Alzheimer's patients. We also know that aluminium damages nerve cells. But we don't know if aluminum actually causes Alzheimer's disease. It could be that the disease causes aluminum to accumulate in the brain, rather than aluminum accumulation in the brain causing the disease.
But eliminating aluminum from your environment may be a moot point. Because it is the most abundant metal on earth, avoiding aluminum is a virtually impossible task. It's found in water, air and soil. You probably ingest ...
