Dec. 10--CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- In the loft at Dutcher's Paint and Glass, Marie Cook stood before many of her recent works on display in the gallery space.
Liesa Bailey bounded up the steps with her husband, Ed. When she saw Cook, she blurted out, "I just bought one of your paintings for my birthday!"
Cook, ever gracious, inquired about the piece she had purchased. It was a watercolor of an Iowa farm field with rolling hills. Bailey said it reminded her of drives through Northeast Iowa. Cook responded that was the basis for her painting.
