COPENHAGEN, Denmark - In this magical kingdom, the oldest monarchy in the world, there's a saying that "in a mother's breasts there is milk in one and Hans Christian Andersen in the other." That's how revered the fairy tale author is here.
Andersen's greatest hits are certainly an impressive list: "The Little Mermaid," "The Princess and the Pea, "The Ugly Duckling," "Thumbelina," "The Emperor's New Clothes" - he wrote 156 fairy tales in all.
No wonder Denmark is planning a major celebration in 2005 to mark the writer's 200th birthday.
