MAJOR GENERAL JOHN K. CULLEN
Retired Jan. 31, 1965. Died Oct. 25, 2000.
Major General John K. Cullen was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., in 1907. He graduated from high school in 1925 and attended the University of Pittsburgh, receiving his bachelor of science degree in 1930 and his master's degree in 1932. He served his internship at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh.
General Cullen entered the service in 1933 as a first lieutenant and was assigned as a camp surgeon in the Civilian Conservation Corps. From 1935 to 1941 he served as assistant post surgeon at Fort Logan, Colo., and at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii.
