In the days following City Councilwoman Donna Frye's stunning write-in campaign for San Diego mayor that put her atop incumbent Dick Murphy and challenger Supervisor Ron Roberts, pundits and media personalities reminded us that the race wasn't over Until all the ballots were counted, because some people may have written in Mickey Mouse.

How appropriate. With a lawsuit pending, all local judges are begging off the case--meaning an arbiter is being imported from outside the county to decide our city's fate. Such is the state of San Diego these days. We're quickly becoming Fantasyland South, with Mickey Mouse and Goofy at the helm.
