`I always ignore tradition in my work with Shakespeare," Declan Donnellan wrote in an e-mail from London about his contemporary, controversial version of "Romeo and Juliet" for the Bolshoi Ballet.
The famous Russian ballet company presents the U.S. premiere of Donnellan's "Romeo and Juliet," set to Sergei Prokofiev's score, at Northrop Auditorium on Friday evening. The Bolshoi returns Saturday and next Sunday to its classical roots with a full-length "Don Quixote."
