Dec. 14--Federal regulators have issued a safety advisory regarding a West Buxton fire equipment company that may have fraudulently inspected high-pressure fire extinguishers.
A branch of the U.S. Department of Transportation says it has evidence that Statewide Fire Equipment Inc. used identification numbers from licensed testing facilities to indicate that carbon-dioxide fire extinguishers were safe to use. Statewide did this without the knowledge of these testing facilities, the DOT said.
