Dec. 14--Boone County Presiding Commissioner Keith Schnarre called it a learning experience.
A salary survey conducted for the county had to be revised and submitted again this month, causing the county to miss a Nov. 15 state deadline for the preliminary budget and putting the entire budget on hold.
Salaries and personnel costs make up the biggest chunk of the county's budget, and Boone County Auditor June Pitchford said she couldn't prepare a budget without knowing what those costs might be.
