CHRISTIAN SEARGEANT'S goal in the first period of extra-time against Charlton Athletic at Goodison Park last night was enough to book Everton Youth team's place in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup.
The midfielder, who is the son of former Everton player of the 1970s Dave Seargeant, struck the only goal of the third round tie after 103 minutes to set up a fourth round trip to either Yeovil Town or Luton Town who play tonight - in January.
After two years when the club were knocked out at the first hurdle to Port Vale and Coventry City, Neil Dewsnip's side were keen to make amends.
