When Guatemala President Oscar Berger andhis political advisers traveled to New York in September to promote their country in financial circles, interest was high among investors.
"This meeting was a way, to give a firm first step to introduce Guatemala as an excellent destination for Direct Foreign Investment," said Armando Sobalvarro, President of "Invest in Guatemala," the Ministry of Economy's National Foreign Direct Investment Promotion Agency. "We're starting to reach out overseas as we seek to attract investment to a country that has great advantages."
