Jim Faulconbridge, a principal in the Roseville-based engineering firm of Karges-Faulconbridge Inc., says no tour of the firm's new headquarters is complete without a visit to the men's restroom.
There, Faulconbridge points with pride to two waterless urinals. By relying upon replaceable sanitizing cartridges instead of flushes, the firm saves 21,000 gallons of water a year.
Sure, that's being green, but for Faulconbridge and his partners, it's more about the long green.
"We tell clients it's the right thing to do," he said, "but it's not an academic interest. It's about return on investment."
