The risk of a turnover was supposed to be minimal when Vikings offensive coordinator Scott Linehan called a reverse option pass for Randy Moss on first down at the Seattle 20-yard line with 2 minutes, 16 seconds left and the Vikings trailing by four points in Sunday's game at the Metrodome.
"Either it's a touchdown," said Linehan, "or you run a couple of yards and you line up and go again."
Well, not exactly.
One step from the sideline, Moss forced the ball into double coverage and was intercepted by strong safety Michael Boulware in the end zone. Seattle held its 27-23 lead as the Vikings fell to 7-6.
