Court approval granted for certification and settlement of Baycol class actions.

TORONTO, Dec. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Lawyers representing Canadians (outside of British Columbia) who used the cholesterol-lowering drug Baycol today announced that the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Quebec Superior Court have approved a settlement and, to give effect to the settlement, certified classes of Baycol users who suffered from rhabdomyolysis, a muscle disease.

The settlement was reached under the supervision of Mr. Justice Warren K. Winkler of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and was made without any admission of liability on the part of the Defendants.
