LANDSCAPE is an evocative and emotive, complex, and powerful idea that is at the forefront of thinking about the Government's agenda for modernising rural delivery. It will underpin much of the work of the proposed integrated land management agency, which will combine English Nature with parts of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs' (Delta's) Rural Development Service and the Countryside Agency. It is also the focus of a newly ratified European convention, in which the UK Government is showing increasing interest.
