Latest results for the Retail Sales Index indicate that underlying retail sales growth has partially recovered from a marked slowdown in late summer. The seasonal impact in November from Christmas shopping is in line with that of recent years.
The volume of retail sales in the three months September to November was 1.3 per cent higher than in the previous three months. This follows growth of 1.2 per cent in the three months to October.
