Argentina is negotiating with neighboring Bolivia on the price it will pay to import natural gas next year to avoid shortages similar to those of 2004. But experts warn that additional gas supplies may not be enough to prevent an energy crisis of serious proportions in 2005.

Government officials from both countries who met this week in Buenos Aires failed to agree on the price that Argentina will pay for the 230 million cubic feet per day of gas it will import from Bolivia next year.
