SAN FRANCISCO -- The San Francisco Business Times named Arthur Levinson, chairman and CEO of Genentech Inc. (NYSE:DNA), it's 2004 Executive of the Year.
The business publication bestows the annual honor on the Bay Area executive who has had the biggest impact on business in the Bay Area during the past year.
"Genentech has long been a Bay Area success story, but the string of recent product approvals and the growth of the company has been stunning," said Steve Symanovich, editor of the San Francisco Business Times. "We think Levinson deserves a lot of credit for that."
