Over the objections of Office of the Ohio Consumers' Counsel, Cincinnati Gas & Electric will be raising the generation rate on electric bills by at least 20 percent beginning in 2006, according to our estimates.

This will cost the average residential customer over $100 per year. Beyond the initial increases, the door is wide open for CG&E to ask the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio for additional rate increases in 2007 and 2008.
