Dec. 19--LAKELAND, Fla. -- Vigorous job growth and a falling unemployment rate marked a healthy November for Polk County's labor market.
The county, however, remained in the bottom quarter of the state's rankings on jobless rates by metro area.
Polk's November unemployment rate of 5.3 percent was down 0.2 percentage points from its rate a year ago, according to the Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation. The November rate fell 0.7 points from October's revised figure of 6 percent.
