PETAH TIKVA, Israel -- ECI Telecom (NASDAQ: ECIL) announced that ECI, through Nortel Networks as the End-to-End solution provider, has been selected to provide Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) equipment to support a European Utility FTTH deployment. The ECI solution will allow the customer to deliver advanced "triple play" services - video, voice and data - to its customers over an optical broadband connection.
This order represents the first mass commercial deployment of FTTH PON in Europe, and follows last month's announcement that ECI's equipment is carrying live traffic in England as part of BT's 21st Century Network initiative. ECI's carrier-grade Passive Optical ...
