An acting assistant Treasury secretary for tax policy is expected to be named this week to replace Greg Jenner, who unexpectedly resigned Friday to return to private law practice, Treasury Department officials said yesterday.
Jenner's replacement will lead the tax policy division, which oversees tax-exempt bond legislation and regulations, until President Bush formally nominates a replacement who will work with the commission Bush is preparing to appoint next year to study how to simplify the tax code.
