Satellite Technology Management Inc. recently announced it has received an order in excess of $4 million for a turnkey, private VSAT network from Agroasemex, a government-owned insurer of agricultural crops, equipment and livestock based in Queretaro, Mexico.
Agroasemex maintains an office in each of Mexico's 32 states and more than 20 local offices which communicate with its main office in Queretaro. Each state office operates a computer system that interfaces to the mainframe computer in Queretaro.
The turnkey VSAT network will serve the 32 remote offices with X.25 protocol-based applications, each of which will have five data ports and two voice ...
