Macquarie Airports Brussels S.A. of Luxembourg, owned by Australia's Macquarie Group, has been allowed to acquire joint control of Brussels International Airport, along with the Belgian State. The Commission cleared the deal on December 20.

Permira and Private Equity Partners have been given the go-ahead by the Commission to acquire join control of MGC, along with its current owner, Marazzi. All companies involved are Italian.

German waste disposal business Veolia Water Deutschland GmbH, owned by France's Veolia, received clearance from the Commission's Merger Task Force on December 20 to purchase German utilities firm Braunschweiger Versorgungs-AG.
