Dec. 23--Nick Austin confesses that he is sometimes afraid he could turn into the Grinch who stole Christmas. It is hardly surprising. As the founder of Britain's number one toymaker, Vivid Imaginations, Austin has the huge responsibility of ensuring that there are enough toys on the shelves.

This Christmas hundreds of young girls could be in for a disappointment when a Bratz doll fails to make it into their stocking.

The sassy, cool, fashion-conscious Bratz dolls, which overtook Barbie in August to become the UK's top-selling toy, have flown off the shelves and Vivid has been unable to replenish stocks quickly enough.
