Share this number countdown book with children. Use it as a springboard to the following activities.
Math: Cut out 10 dinosaur shapes. At circle time, say and display a numeral (1 through 10). Invite a child to count out that number of dinosaur shapes and place them side by side on the floor.
Science: Invite children to dig for fossils. In advance, fill paper cups halfway with damp sand (one for each child). Use a large plastic dinosaur to make footprints in the sand. Pour plaster of Paris over each print, and let it dry. When dry, peel off the paper cups. Bury each plaster piece with sand in a sensory table. Give children small shovels to dig for ...
