IT IS ALMOST Christmas, but readers are still searching for old or lost recipes to keep and cherish. Martha McAdams of Knotts Island wrote, "I grew up in Virginia Beach and went to Cooke Elementary School. Once a week they served barbecue sandwiches, very much like Sloppy Joes.
