Dec. 24--Thrilled to the bone at their luck, the Sawyers of Marina were all smiles after being selected two years ago to receive the first Habitat for Humanity house on the Peninsula.
But two years is a long time for a family to hold a smile, especially when they are still living in the same two-bedroom apartment with four growing children. Heather Sawyer, the children's mother, said it feels like the apartment is shrinking.
Standing between the Sawyers and their house is a thicket of complications that have impeded the completion of the house and the realization of their dream.
