Dec. 27--SACKETS HARBOR, N.Y.-- In December, the Seaway Trail Discovery Center would be ghostly were it not for a handful of visitors and the half-dozen staff members.
But executive director Teresa H. Mitchell takes pride in the center being one of the few attractions in the north country to operate year-round.
"It's a new attraction and it takes time for people to discover new things," Mrs. Mitchell said. "We've talked for many years in the tourism industry to extend the season; if we're not open year-round, it won't happen."
