Dec. 27--SLEEPY MARKET COULD EASILY AWAKE: Looking back on the stock market this year, both share prices in Japan and the United States and yen-dollar exchange rates have been moving within an unexpectedly narrow range despite major events such as the U.S. presidential election and the sharp rise in crude oil prices, which could have substantially affected the market. While the surging mood in share prices did not last long, they also did not nosedive as feared.
