State and city officials are vowing to crash all-you-can drink New Year's Eve bashes, as several local clubs dance around liquor laws by cleverly promoting "open bar" parties.
Despite a state law that bars advertising open bars, Hub promoters have been sending out mass e-mails and posting fliers on Web sites plying customers with offers of unlimited booze for about $100 a head.
"If the bar itself is running it and advertising it, it's illegal," said Boston Licensing Board Chairman Daniel Pokaski.
