Before the world changed, Fuhgedd-aboutit! Three stores went out of business testing the concept. They may drink California wine in California, Burgundy in Burgundy and Bordeaux in Bordeaux, but in New York City they drink California, Burgundy, Bordeaux and Italy.
But one wine shop in lower Manhattan is showing that as the world changes, so does wine drinking and marketing.
Vintage New York, as the shop is called, legally is not a shop at all. It's a "farm winery." Imagine that on a corner of the hip, hot area of sophisticated Soho.
Bob Ransome and the aptly named Susan Wine, the co-proprietors, planted Vintage New York on the corner of Broome ...
