MOLD-MASTERS has applied new thinking to a number of aspects of hot runner production, producing new techniques on the edge of commercialisation.
Colour change time can be halved with a new melt optimising gate--available as a valve gate or a tip gate--which has a symmetrical and pressure balanced design to ensure that the first colour melt is completely and rapidly washed out by the second colour. Incorporation of a pressure chamber in the nozzle is said to overcome problems with cleaning out liquid colorants.
