An American/KuwaitI joint venture, operating under the name of GULF CARBON INDUSTRIES CO. (GCIC), is currently gearing-up to build a new carbon anode plant in Kuwait. The partners in the planned undertaking include AL-FADA TRADING & CONTRACTING CO. and US-based AMINCO RESOURCES which will hold a 30% stake in the venture while the remaining equity will be sold to Gulf investors.

In so doing, AL-FADA TRADING & CONTRACTING CO. recently signed an agreement with KUWAIT PETROLEUM CO. (KPC) for the supply of 380,000 tons per year (t/y) of calcined coke over a 20-year period or 510,000 t/y of green petroleum coke if calcined coke is not ...
