PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The Chinese government recently approved the construction plans for a proposed vehicle assembly plant that are being promoted by an international joint venture. The partners in the planned undertaking and their respective shareholdings include the local FUJIAN MOTOR INDUSTRY GROUPS (5O%), Germany-based DAIMLER CHRYSLER AG (33.4%) and CHINA MOTOR CORP. of Taiwan (17.6%).
Construction plans under consideration call for building a plant with an initial installed production capacity of 40,000 commercial passenger vehicles per year. However, total output may eventually be increased to 60,000 units per year depending on market conditions. ...
