PROJECT OVERVIEW:
A local joint venture, operating under the name of AL-JUBAIL PETROCHEMICAL CO. that is owned by SAUDI BASIC INDUSTRIES CORP. (SABIC) and US-based EXXONMOBIL CHEMICAL, a subsidiary of EXXONMOBIL, is currently gearing-up to build a new cracking furnace. In so doing, the company recently awarded the construction contract to TECHNIP BENELUX B.V. of the Netherlands, a subsidiary of France-based TECHNIP-COFLEXIP.
The project, of undisclosed cost, is scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2006.
