Dec. 29--Ford Motor Co. expects to break a record today for sales of its popular F-Series pickups -- and to do it in San Antonio, where rival Toyota Motor Corp. is building a full-size truck plant.
Ford selected Southway Ford, one of the top 50 F-Series dealers in the United States, to record the sale that will beat the record of 911,597, set in 2001.
In choosing Southway, Ford is showing respect for one of its giant dealers. It's also the nearest Ford dealer to the Tundra plant under construction on the South Side.
