The 31 January bid deadline on the estimated $900 million water transmission scheme in the western region is expected to be pushed back by six-eight weeks. The extension is in line with the anticipated bid deadline extension on the planned Shouaiba independent water and power project (IWPP), which--in addition to the existing Shouaiba desalination complex--will provide water to the conveyor. The client is the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC--MEED 5:11:04).
