A number of employee assistance plan vendors agree that the quality of employee assistance program services has deteriorated over the years. The question with which they still are wrestling, however, is why.
Executives at the EAP consortium Claremont Partners believe they know the answer. A recently released white paper claims that the common capitated pricing model and what analysts call "utilization inflation" have led to a significant drop in the ability of EAPs to deal with issues that affect workplace productivity and effectiveness.
