In the rarest of sanctions, Harvey Ginsberg on Monday became the third judge in more than three decades to be removed from the bench by the Minnesota Supreme Court.
Ginsberg, who had been a Hennepin County district judge for 13 years, already was under suspension after being charged in two criminal cases, and didn't run for reelection in November.
The Supreme Court also ruled that Ginsberg, 51, could retire and receive pension benefits now rather than waiting until he turns 62.
