I remain unconvinced that using network assessment tools before and after deployment of an IP-PBX in the small-medium enterprise is cost effective or practical from the perspective of the field technician. The SME hawk-eye watch on every penny inevitably begs an answer to the question: "Why are we spending money to qualify the purchase on an IP-PBX?" That, in turn, should invoke a more basic question: "Why are we buying an IP-PBX?"
Among the telephony systems that my outfit currently sells and services, the expected return on investment (ROI) for network assessment tools will not surface for years, given current pricing for this software. These costs, even when ...
