2004 proved a lot better than the previous year for the countrys travel and tourism trade industry as it recovered slowly but steadily towards the last quarter. Thus, it posted substantial gains and opened opportunities for a more viable growth.
Jose C. Clemente III, vice-president for administration of the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) and president of the 32-year-old Rajah Travel, said the viability of the industry has improved a lot since 9/11 and SARS halted an otherwise vibrant tourism backdrop last year.
