Dec. 31--Boone County Commissioners have adopted a final budget for the 2005 fiscal year.
The $44.7 million budget is $4.5 million over revenue, but commissioners said yesterday that actual spending probably will be less than that.
"We have what we feel is a sound budget," Presiding Commissioner Keith Schnarre. "It may show a negative, but in reality, it will come off close to being a balanced budget."
Southern District Commissioner Karen Miller said a one-month delay of a salary survey led to a new way of processing the budget that she hopes will help in the future.
