When Kim Mueller of Andover checked her credit union balance Monday, she was stunned to find herself about $150 overdrawn, the victim of a Walgreens computer that billed as many as 3 million transactions multiple times.
The errors were made Dec. 23 and 24 and caught and corrected on Christmas, the Illinois-based pharmacy giant said Wednesday, but that wasn't fast enough for people like Mueller who paid for their purchases by signing for debit card payments.
Many other customers still may be unaware of the foul-up because Walgreens has not notified affected customers.
