If there are lies, damn lies and statistics, there remains one stat that holds quite a bit of truth when judging the career of Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn as it nears the halfway point.
The number is one, and it denotes the amount of bowl games the Irish have reached in Quinn's two years as their starting quarterback. Following a 5-7 season in 2003, the final nine games of which were played under the direction of the freshman Quinn, Notre Dame is 6-5 this season and can reverse its record from a year ago with a win in Tuesday night's Insight Bowl against Oregon State in Phoenix.
